New Grant Funding Announcements

The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) 2026 will open for applications on 17 March 2026

As with previous rounds, funding is available across three themes:

Improve Productivity
Manage Slurry
Improve Animal Health and Welfare

Important Details

  • Farmers can submit one application per theme.

  • Each category has a maximum grant limit of £25,000.

  • The FETF is competitive, and you may not receive all items applied for.

  • Funding will be allocated after all applications have been submitted and scored.

  • The productivity and slurry scoring uplift has been removed, as has the animal health and welfare scoring uplift.

  • The deadline for submitting applications is midday on 28 April 2026.

Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) 2026 Scheme Details Released

There will be two application windows. Window 1 will open in June 2026 and will remain open for 2 months or until funding has been allocated. Window 1 will be open to small farms (3 to 50 hectares) and also farms without an existing environmental land management (ELM) revenue agreement. Window 2 will open in September 2026 for all farms. The end date for window 2 applications is not confirmed, it will depend on the uptake.

Key changes for 2026
Several important changes have been introduced for this round:

  • Agreements will be capped at £100,000 per year

  • Only one agreement per farm will be permitted in 2026

  • Rotational actions cannot increase in area beyond what is declared in Year 1.

  • Payment rates have been reduced for some popular options. For example:
    Herbal leys reduced from £382/ha to £224/ha.

  • AHW7 Enhanced Over Winter Stubble will now be subject to a 25% area limit cap.

Capital Grants Confirmed For July 2026

Specific details are yet to be released, but if it reopens with the same format as 2025 it is likely demand will be high and farmers can only submit one capital grant application per year per SBI . Funding will be available for the usual items; fencing, hedgerow restoration works, concreting and roofing over.  

Catchment sensitive farming (CSF) Requirements
For certain items, particularly roofing and concreting approval must be obtained from your local CSF adviser before any application can be submitted. Without prior approval, these items will not be eligible.
