Do you rent out fields or buildings?

Do you own land and/or buildings which you rent to a neighbour or relative?  Often this can be a verbal agreement or a handshake/gentleman’s agreement.  However, if you feel that you would like to formalise the arrangement and set up a written agreement, we can help.  There are sound taxation reasons why you should do this, as well as protecting your interests.  The main forms of agreement include

  1. An annual Grazing and Mowing Licence

  2. A Farm Business Tenancy

  3. A Contract Farming Agreement

  4. Or a Licence to Occupy (along with a Record of Condition if required) for agricultural buildings

We can advise on the best form of agreement to suit your circumstances.
